Date night w/ The Hubs!
Love this man.
Best thing that ever happened to me.
Trying out Rasika!
Supposedly the best Indian restaurant in greater Washington DC area!
Mango Mocktail Spritzer |
My Mango mocktail was delicious and refreshing!
Masala Chai |
Palak Chaat - crispy baby spinach w/ yogurt, onions, tamarind and dates |
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Seriously one of the BEST things I've ever eaten in my entire life.
I know it looks like a blah indistinguishable mess. But it was DELICIOUS!
It was flash fried spinach.. fried no longer then 7 seconds in chickpea oil with various other things sprinkled in.
I can't describe it it was INSANELY deliciously.. like the best kale chips you've ever had in your life x 234342398778976384765 but fried.. and more delicious. HAHAHAHA. So not helpful. But seriously if you visit the DC area you MUST TRY THIS DISH!
Chicken Tikka Masala |
This was good.. but not spicy enough... honestly I've been spoiled with amazing Indian food having lived in the Bay area for half a decade.. Hello Berkeley anyone hahahah?
Khatta Meetha Black Cod Duo w/ Quinoa |
Butterfish prepared two ways!
Delicious.. rich and buttery.. but my heart still aches for my absolute favorite dish in the WHOLE WORLD.. Roy's Miso Butterfish in Hawaii!
I find that I always order Black Cod whenever I see it on a menu and then end up comparing it to Roy's Miso Butterfish and always feel let down. I should probably stop doing that. BAHAHAHAHA.
Mint Paratha & Garlic Naan |
Tandoori Chicken Tikka |
This was surprisingly delicious. I'm typically not a fan of Tandoori Chicken because I always feel like it comes out too dry from baking in the clay oven. But the Hubs wanted to order this dish so I relented. He did after all fly 99283749823749 miles just to take me out to dinner. ahahahaha.
Anyways suffice to say I was pleasantly surprised theirs was moist and delicious! I was quite impressed with this dish.
Cucumber Pachadi - Yogurt, mustard seeds, curry & leaves |
Our Yummy Spread!
IDK what's going on here.
My favorite part of a meal dessert!
(Yay right who am I kidding I love beginning, middle and end hahahahah)
Apple Jalebi |
Omg this was freakin' delicious!
It was deep fried apples in a impossibly crispy and heavenly batter soaked in honey and pistachio's
Hello deliciousness!
Toffee & Date sticky pudding |
This was delicious too! It's a take on my favorite British dessert Sticky Toffee Pudding.. but theirs was sweetened with dates I think and I found myself rather quite enjoying it because sometimes I think the English version is a tad too sweet for me.
Love the decor of this restaurant - kitschy and modern!
Requisite bathroom shots!
Shizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm shiny.
I've forgotten just HOW ridiculously humid it is here on the east coast!
My verdict is that the restaurant was delicious! But honestly if I were to go back I would just order one of the the flash fried spinach appetizers for myself and order a tandoori chicken to share it for some protein and eat it like a chicken salad BAHAHAHAHAHA.
And then dessert of course.
Because their dessert is NOMMY.
Oh.. and did I mention I'm officially 30?
Hahahaha Happy 30th B-Day to me! :p
Good-bye 20's Hello 30's!
