Today I wanted to blog about some things that I'm super duper loving right now :)
My Nook Color!
I can download books right from my nook or even from my PC and it downloads within a few seconds. I also subscribe to Cosmopolitan and US Weekly and they download right onto my Nook as well. The colors are crazy vibrant and the pictures are just like if I were looking at it in a real magazine. You can also go online wherever there is Wi-Fi so I can keep up to date on my blog reading hehe. The best part is that it's about half the size of the Ipad and it slips right into my Jumbo Flap so I can whip it out when I'm on the subway, the Dr's office or even while waiting for my latte at Starbucks!
My local Off Saks!
I've never been much of a fan of the "Off" stores like Nordstrom Rack, Last Call Neimans or Loehman's mostly because they're kind of disorganized, clothes are on the floor and it gives me a headache to shift through racks and racks of clothes. I also feel like I NEVER EVER find anything good! Hubs had to run some errands so he dropped me off at The Rim shopping center and while I was waiting I decided to wander into the Off Saks. I'm so glad I did because the store is gorgeous. Everything is neatly organized, extremely well presented and the best part it has an AMAZING selection of designer clothes. I scored two Yumi Kim dresses and an A New York dress for $150!! Normally each of these dresses are $200 bucks a pop! I got 3 dresses for less than the price of 1!! What's not to Love?! :)
If you're not familiar with this brand it's a clothing store for 20 something's in LA's famous Roberston street. A lot of young celebrities are often spotted shopping here. I'm always looking for a cute way to tote my travel things. I had seen this duffel bag when I visited the store a year ago but the $125 bucks price tag was a bit too rich for me. I found it on the Kitson website recently for half the price. WOOHOO! I'm currently totally obsessed with blue and pink combo right now and felt that since we were moving to Germany and planning to travel all through Europe I NEEDED not wanted a cute new duffel bag. bahahahaha. They have them in 5 other color combo's! :)
Target Xhilaration brand travel slippers!
When I fly I like to be comfortable and that often time involves taking off my shoes because I find with the high altitude and the compressed pressure my feet always feel like they're swelling by the minute and I get really uncomfortable. Taking your shoes off on the plane and touching the plane floor is GROSS so I like to bring these with me. They're really soft and durable and I've thrown them in the wash a couple of time and they seem to be holding up quite well. They fold up really small and slip right inside my purse. When I'm about to disembark the plane I just slip them into a little zip lock bag so I keep the inside of my purse clean :) These were a super good price I believe they were $11 bucks and aside from grey they also come in cobalt blue, fushia pink and black versions.
I am by no means an advocate of fake designer bags you can find a wonderfully functional bag at any price point ranging from $20 - $2,000 without trying to "fake the funk". I would in all honesty be totally horrified to be caught using a "fake" Birkin bag but I think this is adorable because it is so obviously a PICTURE of a Birkin printed on a canvas tote bag. I purchased this tote so that I could use it as a re-usable grocery tote bag or as a travel tote. I usually bring 2 (or 3 Chanel's with me while traveling.. I have a tendency to overpack haha). I put them inside of a giant tote bag that I bring with me as my "purse" carry on (NEVER ever pack your designer goods in your checked luggage.. you might find them missing when you've gotten to your hotel!!). Also when you go through security your designer bag(s) stay nice and clean inside your travel tote when you have to put it in those gross bins (the ones that people put their shoes in!!!! EEK!). The canvas material has a coating on it so you don't have to worry about getting it messy or wet with groceries or while traveling. I have yet to find my dream Birkin so in the meantime I'll have to be satisfied with my "Birkin" Taipei tote bag haha.
OMG HAHAHAHAHA i love your "Birkin" bag
ReplyDeletei'm not a fan of the "Off" stores either. i'm usually way too lazy to sort thru the mess!!
gl w the move to Germany babe!! can't wait to see how u like Europe :D
That is the cutest, chicest grocery bag! And i really like those target shoes. I have never seen those! Hmmm guess I'm taking a trip to my local target soon...
ReplyDeletei love those grey cotton flats, they look so cute and comfy!
ReplyDeleteI got my boyfriend the Nook colour and was upset with him that he never uses it, I'm about to start using it now, it is an awesome little gadget for the go.
ReplyDeleteNothing beats find a great deal, I do like sifting through clothes for a great deal but highly disorganized places do make me annoyed as well.
Haha cute shopping tote as well, I have Hello Kitty ones and always get compliments, I bet your "Birkin" will as well.
Awww the Banane Taipei "Birkin" bag is freakin' adorbs..... I need know. Where'd you get yours??

Aw, you got your bag! I have to say that I like that pink. ;) As for the "Off" stores, I love the Rack (guess I've been lucky b/c the one I go to is nice and fairly organized), Off Saks is too small and far away for me, I rarely find anything at Last Call, and pretty much gave up on Loehmann's. :\ You scored some really awesome stuff! :D Good luck on your move!!
ReplyDeleteI love those dresses, they are so perfect, I like the colors and the shapes and my favorite has to be the black floral one, great one! You have a lovely blog and I am a new follower! Hope you will like my blog and follow back!

googling nook as we speak. LOLL i never heard of nook ever! who knows im gonna dump my ipad for this!
ReplyDeleteLOL at the 'birkin'!
Oh I think it would be fun to have a Nook or Kindle. Great dresses and you got a great deal. I would not carry a fake designer bag, but I don't mind carrying non-leather bags. I think the Hermes canvas top is clever and tongue in cheek. :)
ReplyDeletethe banana taipei bag is so cute! :) OOTD using it please.
ReplyDeletethe dresses are all beautiful and the travel slippers look so comfy!
had to google nook :plove the blue colours and loving the sequin bag! The tote is so cute! I use to have travel slippers I bought from target too, but I've lost them.

I'm sooo jealous of your Nook. I still have seconds thoughts about it, will i use it enough to justify the purchase? IDK yet...
ReplyDeleteOMG the Kitson bag is the NO1 hot thing in Japan now...
Aren't the banana taipei "birkin" bags wild? Such a genius idea, if only i'd have thought of it first I'd be rich...

ReplyDeleteloool cool birkin bag xD
ReplyDeleteThe banana birkin bag is pretty popular in Asia ;p
ReplyDeleteLOVEE your Kitson duffle-- I have wanted one of those for years, so fun and a classic!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I totally don't like going to "off" stores for that reason too. I HATE having to dig for stuff. Can't things be cheaper AND organized? That said, when I come across and Off5th, I'll have to actually go in and check them out.

OMG, what a fun post Lisa. I haven't heard of the first program that is so cool and I'm glad you found some cute dresses there, i've been to Nordstrom Rack a lot, but I should try Off Saks more often. I LOVE the Birkin bag in the bottom pic, you always get the best bags. It's so fun, great color!

I'm so impressed that you were able to pick up three gorgeous dresses. They're lovely!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about never placing designer bags in your checked luggage and those bins. Yucky! The carry on is essential! I get especially paranoid about my Chanels.
Love that last pic and your sense of humor:) Good luck with everything move related and settling in.
I Love it!

Really?! You haven't find any gems from the off stores? I'm basically a fiend at all of the off stores, especially Nordstrom Rack. I usually find awesome deals on Too Faced products there as well! You'll see me digging in a bin with my feet up in the air! I love all of your dresses that you purchased and that Kitson duffle is adorable. I would totally take that to the gym just for some kicks and giggles :)
