GLAMGLOW SuperMud Beauty Review

Hi!!  As most of you know I don't really do beauty reviews.. because well I'm not a beauty blogging (actually I'm not a really anything blogger now that I think about it I just blog about whatever randomness is going on. lol) And I really like to leave the beauty blogging to legit beauty bloggers.  But this has been on my radar for awhile and I thought I'd do a quickie review because it's supposedly been touted as a "cult favorite" by celebrities.

I ordered the GLAMGLOW "Gift Sexy" gift set.  

GLAMGLOW is famous for two different masks SUPERMUD & YOUTHMUD and honestly I wasn't sure which would be best for me so I just decided to pick up the gift set.

This dual set retails for $69 which is the same price if you were to purchase the masks separately. However when you purchase them separately the jar is 1.7 oz.  While in this set the SUPERMUD is 1.2 oz and the YOUTHMUD is .05 oz.  So you're basically paying for it as if you were paying for one jar of product.  I just checked the website and I noticed that they are now offering .05 oz sizes of the product for $19.

Today I'm just reviewing the SUPERMUD.  This is the one that supposedly targets problematic skin - breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads ect.

I just want to preface this by saying I don't have SUPER problematic skin but I definitely think it could be better for sure.  I do have pores and I do breakout.

This is what it looks like on the inside. Honestly for the price it's really not a lot of product. However it does tell you to only smear a thin layer of the product and or use it for spot treatments.

The mask basically dried into a hard clay mask and the darker bits that you see are supposedly where it has pulled up the dirt, oil and any other bad stuff floating in, on and around your face.

After I washed it off I felt like my pores, black and white heads did look a bit smaller.  While it worked I honestly don't think it was a dramatic difference, being that this is the "miracle in a jar" everyone has been talking about (especially considering the price).  My face felt clean but not as revitalizing as I was hoping/expecting. 

Hopefully I'll have a review of the YOUTHMUD up as soon as I can to test it out :)

BLS (Basic Life Support) Class!

You have to be certified to work at the clinic but I actually found it to be extremely informative and would take it again in a heartbeat even if it wasn't mandatory. We learned how to perform CPR, Heimlich Maneuver & how to use an AED (Automated Extended Defibrillator) on adults, children and infants in 1 person rescuer or 2 person rescuer groups. Definitely a useful life skill!

If you're interested in becoming certified you can do it with your local Red Cross!

Since I'm at the clinic with the Hubs now dinners have been a lot simpler as of late.

And for the Hubs - Dumpling Pizza!

It's so simply and filling.  I mean what's not to love pork + cheese. 

I had a similar version years and years ago at a fusion Japanese restaurant in Hawaii.  It's just pan fried dumplings + cheddar (fried until it's crunchy) + furikake on top!

Steak w/ Chive Butter, BBQ sauce & Spicy Chipotle Butter & Side Salad

Your steak comes out entirely raw on an extremely hot plate.  And you basically cut it yourself and "cook" it to your preferred wellness.  It was pretty fun & interactive!

The irony is that this steak is apparently from Omaha Nebraska lol!  Americans in Germany eating US steak. Oh the irony.  The Hubs went with the Argentinian steak and tried some of mine and said the Omaha steak was better. Who knew?!

I was reading a post on Whowhatwear.com recently and it talked about "cultivating" an "everyday uniform".  Pieces that you can just throw together and be out the door decently put together in 5 mins flat!

And I realized the above is mine! 

Loose fitting blouse or tee, jean leggings, booties w/ a leather or in this case faux leather jacket!

Kalbi shortribs marinated for a full 24 hours!!!

The Hubs kept opening the fridge and asking if I could cook them straight away but waiting the full 24 hours made all the difference in the world!  So flavorful and juicy.

I really reallllly loved the Sk-II cream the more I used it.  Would absolutely most definitely repurchase this in the future!

Definitely more cost friendly then the La Mer I was using prior.  And truthfully because of how expensive the La Mer was I was trying to use AS little as possible when I used it.. which probably COMPLETELY negated any moisturizing effects of the actual product itself

Before my SK-II ran out I purchased these products from Nordstrom.com (they're super affordable too!) upon the recommendation of my blogger friend Phoebe from Eat. Live. Love. Repeat. She's GORGEOUS.. I'm literally obsessed w/ her eye makeup and her glowy skin!  So I'm trying these out now!

Snitzel Sandwich, XL Hot Dog & Paprika Fries

And I especially love a good rum soaked bundt cake ie. Baba au Rum/Rum Baba especially during the holiday season (ok I'm SERIOUSLY months in advance but do you really need a reason for rum soaked cake? lololol.) 

3 in 1 Braided Hair Tutorial

If you can do a simple French Braid you can do this tutorial (but if you're not sure this is a great french braid how to video!)

This tutorial is awesome because it uses the same basic foundation and then branches off into 3 different hairstyles!  Hence 3 looks in 1!

 I'll be breaking this tutorial into 3 parts to show you how.  

HAIR STYLE #1

Start by curling your hair.  

I use hot rollers (you can view the tutorial I did on how to curl your hair w/ hot rollers HERE.)

But you can use curling/flat iron whatever you prefer to use when you curl your hair.

Once your hair is curled you're ready to begin!

Start by portioning out some soft face framing tendrils in the front of your face.  This will help with the overall soft and romantic feel of the look.

Then on your left side take a small bunch of hair at the crown of your head. 

And french braid that bunch. 

Continue to braid it all the way down down as far as you can braid it and then secure with a tiny elastic.

I prefer using the same colored elastics as my hair color.

Now take a 2nd small bunch of hair roughly the same size as your 1st on the same side but from the bottom left nape of your neck. 

French braid the 2nd bunch all the way down as well.

And secure with elastic as well.

Back

Now take your 2 tiny french braids and the rest of your remaining hair that is un-braided take it to the RIGHT side of your neck and french braid it together.

Basically your unwoven remaining hair acts as braid #1, and your 2 french braids each act as braid #2 & #3 respectively.

When you've braided it as far as it goes secure it with elastic as well. 

Front.

Right Side.

Left Side.

Back.

With hairstyle #1 it doesn't look like anything special from the front but I just ADORE how it looks from the back!!  (And yay you can totally see my white hair! I'm 30 ok? :)

HAIR STYLE #2

P.S. Shoutout to my MD girls for my House of Harlow ring! :)

Now if you prefer to be able to see the intricate weave work in the FRONT and don't care about the back.  This one is for you.

This starts off the same w/ the 2 french braids.. and the left over unwoven hair.  Keep everything on the LEFT side.. the same side you braided your 2 french braids (this is different from Hairstyle #1 because in #1 you move EVERYTHING to the right side whereas this one you stay on the left.)

And then you just braid it all together as a french braid the same way you did Hairstyle #1.

This one shows up in the front because the 2 tiny french braids you made were braided on the left side so they're "longer" whereas in hairstyle #1 you pull them over to the right side so the 2 tiny french braids get woven into the back and you can't see it as well on the front because you technically "run" out of hair by the time it gets to the right side.

HAIR STYLE #3

The final one is a continuation of Hairstyle #2.  Once you braid your hair all together on the left side you simply take it and roll it into a loose bun by wrapping it around itself and securing it with elastic, bobby pins and a little hair spray!

You'll definitely want to make sure you have some soft face framing tendrils in the front otherwise it can look a little too stiff and prom-y lol. 

 You'll want to wrap it at the bottom side of the nape of your neck so you can see it slightly from the front.

This one would be perfect for those hot summer weddings!  I didn't get a very good picture of this but it's very cute because it's like a traditional side bun but you can see little french braids woven throughout :)

It would be perfect for spring/summer weddings, bridal showers.. and anytime you're feeling a little extra girly.
