New Apartment & Other Randomness

Have you ever stood at the checkout line and looked at all the Ritter's by the cash wrap and wanted to try ALL of them but never did because they are SO freakin' ginormous that you end up always buying the same one over and over?

NO?

haha just me?

hahahaha well here in Germany they sell MINI ones in a pack!!!  So you can try ALL of them and not feel guilty. or less guilty. or still guilty (especially if you ate all of them in one sitting) ::SAD FACE::

Chai Latte's

Everytime I've order a coffee here they always seem to come with a tiny cookie or shortbread!!

The bookstores in Germany not only encourage you to sit and enjoy in their comfy sofa's but they actually have sofa's where you can not only LIE DOWN but you can also put your feet up!!

OH LORD THIS WAS SOOOO OBSCENELY GOOD!!!  Something about freshly shaved procuitto and crazy fresh mozzeralla it's so good it's almost disgusting.

Pasta Carbonera

If you aren't familiar with pasta carbonera run to your nearest italian restaurant and order it.. it's so nommy it's made with fat chunks of pancetta, cream and eggs.. so it's kinda of a heart attack in a bowl.. but.. so worth it hahah.  It's probably my go to pasta dish and has never ever failed me :)

There's actually a fortress wall that stretches from one end of the city we're living in and goes all the way to the other end of the city.  There's a park that's build around it on one end.. and on the other end the highway is built around it.

Our new apartment! 

As you can see the kiddies have made themselves right at home. 

We live on the 3rd floor which is the highest floor in our building and I love it because our apartment has LOTS of windows so lot's of sunshine and you get great views from any place you may be standing in our apartment.

The down side is that there is no elevator and you have to walk up 6 flights of stairs. 

P.S. I complained about this to my mother and she responded by saying

 "Oh that's good you could stand to loose some weight and maybe tone your butt".

This will be the guest bedroom.. it remains unfinished.  They're putting in the floors this weekend.  German housing is very interesting.. when you move in YOU personally install all of the lighting fixtures (we lived without ANY light for 3 days), you put in the flooring, the kitchen, closets and sometimes even the bathrooms!!!  Luckily we have a really awesome landlord and we offered to pay a little extra every month if they would just take care of everything. 

The unfinished den which the hubs wants to turn into his study.. but... I have plans on turning it into my personal dream dressing room.  Who do you think is going to win this argument? HAHAHAHA.

Connected to the dining area is actually the living room but we're planning on turning it into our bedroom/living room/all purpose room it's HUGE!  Doesn't look as big in the picture but it's like double the size of the dining room.

The hallway has one powder room or half bath, one full bathroom and a giant hallway closet

The bathroom has both a shower and a tub.

This was on the bathroom door when we moved in which I think is pretty freakin' hilarious.

What happens when you send your husband to pick up a rental car.  *sigh* 

Now he has absolutely no interest in driving our OWN car. *Le Sigh*

Cordon Bleu w/ fries

The cordon bleu here is traditionally made with a pork cutlet whereas I think in the US it's traditionally made with chicken.  And yes it tasted just as good as it looks!! haha :p
