Before my post I just wanted to let you guys know that I've signed up for Twitter (I know I'm totally a dinosaur!! :) I thought twitter might make it easier for me to communicate with each and every one of you!
You can find my twitter account to the right of this post!! WOOT!
Weekly date night with the hubs! :)
Rose Finn Potato Soup - Cherry Blossoms and Crispy Shallots |
Salad of Golden Beets - Red Pickled Onions and Blue Cheese Moussant |
Surf and Turf - Maine Lobster, Short rib, Peas and Anise Broth |
Pan Roasted Sea Bream - Rock Shrimp, Snap Peas and Green Garlic Chowder |
My sea bream was just about the most amazing fish I've ever had (outside of Roy's famous miso butterfish). The skin was nice light but very crispy and the fish itself was tender and juicy! IT WAS SO YUMMY!!! The hubs was basically fighting with me for my fish dish. The hub's surf & turf was also quite delicious his lobster was soo soft and buttery. Our appetizers were just ok though the blue cheese mousse for the beet salad was a bit too strong and my potato soup was too rich and I LOVE all things creamy. I could only handle a few bites of that dish. Overall it was an excellent meal and I definitely recommend Bushi-Tei!!
After dinner we walked across the street to the new Cako location that opened in Japantown.
Red Velvet & Chocolate Mint |
Truthfully the cupcakes were just alright they were a little on the dry side but I did like the red velvet frosting it was a light whipped cream cheese frosting. Usually red velvet frosting is pretty heavy and dense.. I really enjoyed this version. The hubs really enjoyed his mint chocolate chip cupcake though :)!
LoL! I love the cupcake display. Hahaha. What a cute date night!
ReplyDeleteYummy...:X

ReplyDeleteAll the food pics you posted are making me hungrrrry! The lobster looks extremely scrumptious!
And I am soooooo glad you got Twitter. I got an account so that I can respond to people's comments there. Much easier than posting replies in the post, but still, some people don't have twitter. Ah well, one problem at a time. :)

ReplyDeleteaww... the sight of the two of u holding cupcakes is sooooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThis looked like a wonderful date night!!! I love the chopsticks in that restaurant! Sooo quirky and cute! Those cupcakes look delicious, isn't ironic how nicely presented pastries usually turn out to be not as great as they look but sometimes the most "unappetizing" dish could turn out to be delicious? But Im glad your cupcakes turned out to be yummy! I've yet to try red velvet cupcake yet!!! It's definitely on my list of things to try, thought Im sure every other person has tried them by now haha
ReplyDeleteLisa! i really love you and your husbands eateries. Looks so delicious. Always!

I've been meaning to ask you, did you name your blog after a chocolate shop at Westfield mall in downtown sf? It is like Cocobella _____ I can't think of the name off the top of my head, but I saw it the other day and it made me think of you. (Not in a creepy way of course)
