Chanel Customization Cocktail Party

Those of you that follow me on Twitter and or Facebook know this month I'm super crazy excited because my special custom order Chanel flap is coming next week!

About 8 months ago I received an invitation in the mail to attend a Chanel customization cocktail party.  To say I was ecstatic would be a total understatement.  I had heard about being able to customize a Chanel Flap but I wasn't entirely sure where you could do it or how you would even go about it.  Turns out this has only been done twice before - once in Tokyo and then in New York City.  Well this time San Francisco got picked to host the event! 

I.WAS.SO.EXCITED. 

At the event you were given the opportunity to customize your very own personal Chanel Flap.  You got to chose the size of your flap (m/l or jumbo), the color of the chain (gold or silver), the length of the chain (longer or shorter), type of leather (caviar, lambskin, metallic or ostrich), and fianlly the color of the flap itself. 

Getting to choose a color was the most exciting part of the whole experience because the colors offered were special release colors.  They were colors that were either totally brand new and have never been released to the public. Or they were extremely popular previously released colors that were discontinued but were brought back just for the customization party.

In anticipation of my customized Chanel flap I thought I would share with you guys pictures from the party last year!!

The entire set up was flown in from Paris just for the customization party! SO NEAT!

Some of the hors dourves offered at the party. 

They showed a Chanel video campaign on these gigantic IPad like screen that had it's own quilted leather carrying case and signature Chanel strap.  They also showed us a presentation on how the Chanel flap is made from start to finish. 

Did you know that a classic flap is actually made TWO bags combined into one flap.  That is why there's an inner flap.  So now when your boyfriend/husband complains about the price you can tell him it's because there's actually two bags inside. AHAHAHAHA.
