OOTD: Colorblocking & Leopard Print

I promised you guys an OOTD wearing my new black Prada slingbacks and my new blue YSL clutch that I did reveals for a little while back here and here.  Well I thought I'd combine them into one OOTD :)

This outfit is my take on colorblocking.  I'm not entirely sure I really followed this current trend correctly.

HAHA.

I'll be honest with you guys I'm not really one to follow trends - I kind of just wear things that I like - how I like to wear them.  Mostly because I'm not 6 feet tall and or a size 2.. some trends are just not made for everyone.

ie. Harem pants.  Or as the hubs calls it HAMMER TIME PANTS!

I looked like a total turd in them.

(In case you were wondering they have since become really comfy PJ's but the hubs still affectionately shouts out "HAMMER TIME DUN NA NA NAH" whenever I wear them heh.)

Bottom: Forever 21 Navy Bodycon Skirt, Spanx Leggings

  2. OMGGGG your shoes are gorgeous! Are they hard to walk in? Every time I am abt to trip in my heels I have to quickly get up & try to make it seem like I did it on purpose LMAO I've gotten quite good at it.

Love the makeup too! You should do a FOTD sometime ^^

  3. Awww cute! I agree with you about certain trends not being good on a person. I can't wear maxi dresses or ankle length capri type trousers. That clutch is actually a really good size! I thought it was a lot more smaller.

  5. Love the outfit!!!

I agree with the not all trends fit everyone. i'm freaking short and i'm on the chubby side too :p so i try to just find things that flatter my body shape rather than get into the trend :p

    Seriously.
    And these shoes.
Okay, you just look 100% adorable. I want to take you home with me.
    Not in a gay way.
But in a let's-be-BFFs-forever-and-ever kind of way.
And that's not weird at all.

  28. I was expecting hammer time pants in this post! hahaha perhaps next time? :) I think you did a great job with the colorblocking. I actually prefer a darker color paired with a bright, as opposed to two brights. Hope you had a great long weekend, Lisa!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hahaha I totally understand you about not following trends...I absolutely cannot do harem pants either. I don't think 99% of the population can.

  37. I think the same way about trends. I wear stuff the way I like to wear them and not how others say they're supposed to be worn. I love your color-blocking, btw! It's very Lisa, especially with the tights and those lovely shoes!

ps. I call harem pats "hammer" pants! but I don't care, because they're so comfy!

  38. Lisa, These shoes are amazing and you look great, the black leggings and heels make your legs look so long. I really like the leopard scarf on you and your makeup and hair is flawless...as usual.

Oh yea, I like how you made fun of harem pants and him singing...those pants are seriously horrible. LOL. Color blocking is so fun, I want to try that soon!

  39. I love the color blocking trend this season :) Your outfit looks great Lisa. I love how you paired it with the leopard scarf and those beautiful heels. Haha I have never quite understood the harem pants trend myself either.

  40. This outfit make you look like you are a fashion editor,Lisa! Love how you add a sassy piece of leopard print scarf to this outfit.

Boy, harem pants do NOT look good on everyone and very few people can rock them. I am too chicken too try them. I really think you would look good in them (black harem pants) with these heels and a basic tee/top.

  41. Love the shoes (as usual)! :D

  49. This might be one of my favorite outfits on you. While in line with the trend, it still has a classic feel. The shoes are to die for and you know I have my eye on the clutch! I'm the same when it comes to trends - I try to incorporate a few each season but with my own twist as I'm no 6' tall super model either.

But since I'm saving for paris trip and other random *guilty* pleasures I've decided to just stick with last years wardrobe for my wallets sake.....but there's a budget for new shoes....I mean common, if I don't buy new clothes I gotta haves me some new shoes and I swear those Marc Jacob mouse flats are squeaking my name!!!! I think you look gorgeous in colours so don't be afraid to rock them!
