La Familia comes to San Antonio :)

It's been YEARS since my entire immediate family was together all at one time.

My family lives on two different continents.  My father lives and works in Taipei, my mother lives and works in Washington, DC and my sister goes to school in Pittsburgh.  Now that I'm moving to Germany our family will be spread out on three continents!

So it was truly a rare treat that my entire family came to San Antonio to visit me! :)

The 3 lovebugs are so excited! hahaha

My Sis!

My Dad!

My Mom!

The hubs!

Family Reunion!

When my family visited...

we ate...

and ate...

is it weird that my dogs like flaming cheetos?!

and ate...

and ate some more!

3 types of butter - cilantro butter, creamy rich butter and goat cheese butter

The cilantro butter was really unusual but I really loved it it was like almost a clean, fragrant butter and the regular butter in the middle was SUPER soft, creamy and rich.

Duck confit w/ spatzle

This was my dish and it was CRAZY GOOD!!!  I'm always a big fan of duck whenever I see it on a menu especially when it's confit.  It's basically braised until the duck is essentially falling apart but the skin is SO CRISPY!! *DROOL* seriously I'm drooling as I'm typing this hahaha.

Fried Quail w/ spinach salad

GINORMOUS ribeye and fries

Texas really does everything bigger I have never seen such a crazy gigantic piece of ribeye before!  The steak had this really great char grill on the outside something that they don't really do in San Francisco so I was pretty surprised when I bit into it but it was DELICIOUS!

Fresh blueberry cheesecake and crust

This was crazy good.  I'm not normally a big fan of cheesecake because it's so rich and dense.  But I was really surprised by this cheesecake it was light and almost tasted like a whipped cheesecake/whip cream!  LOVE!  The cheesecake crust also had a delicious homemade crushed gingersnap cookie.  It was crazy delicious!

Thanks for visiting me, Lucas and the doggies! :)

<3 you guys!

  1. I live near Pittsburgh! *O* What school does she go to? Pitt? CMU? Having lived here for so long, I feel like there's nothing here, so it's always interesting to me when people choose to come here. XD

Anyway, your family photos are so fun and sweet! :)

I'm pretty sure I found your blog through Jenny/Sushi Cat, btw!

  4. OMG!!! YOUR FUR BABIES ARE GOING CRAZY! That's sweet your family was able to conjure up in one location....especially one that made it convenient for you hahahahahaha Though Im sure having the family all in once place could make it crazy sometimes! Omg all the good food, I really wanna bite of that duck and oh god, fluffy cheese cake? I normally don't like cheese cake either but I'll take a bit if you say it's nice and fluffy!

Oh, those spicy cheetos, every time my bf and I pop down to Seattle he grabs bags and bags of those for home and don't worry my dog loves them too....do your dogs also do the nose lick like 200x after you give them one? Cause mines does LOL It's hilarious to watch but sometimes I wonder if Im killing his taste buds since those things are mad crazy!!! I can only have a few each time while bf can down a while bag in one sitting, crazy!

Your sister and you look sooo much like your mom! It's uncanny! Your hubs also looks relaxed and happy around your family <-- it's a good thing hahahahaha Your fur babies probably had a hella good time having so much company over and getting belly rubs and ball throwing from everyone! Im glad you're doing well and I hope that move to Germany goes smooth!!!
