Hotel Ross Restaurant!

Duo marinated salmon & smoked trout w/ dill mustard sauce and potato pancake

Rump steak w/ potato pancake and a side of mixed veggies

F.Y.I. - I should preface this by saying that I eat like a child.  The mixed veggies were yummy there was like a creamy cheese sauce and the green beans were wrapped in bacon!! AHAHAH that's how I like my veggies with cheese & bacon!!  See I told you I eat like a child hahaha :p

Butterfish

I cannot believe I found butterfish in Germany!!  But sadly it was NOTHING like Miso Butterfish from Roy's in Hawaii :( :( :(!!

Total sidenote - If you ever visit Hawaii you MUST go to Roy's and you MUST order the Miso Butterfish! It ranks up there as one of the top 5 most amazing things I've ever eaten ANYWHERE in the world.. and I eat A LOT ahahahahahaha!

Truffle Tagliatelle

Our awesome dinner companion!!  Heart you Bethie :)!

  7. OMG Lisa I LOVE the Miso Butterfish too! We always get it at Roys in Honolulu along with the chocolate lava cake dessert!

Want to hear something funny though? We love that fish so much that we wanted to serve it at our wedding, but our caterers warned us that butterfish tends to give people lots of GAS, LOL!! They said that to serve it at a wedding + lots of alcohol might be risky!

  8. This is slightly off topic, but I'm pretty sure I saw Roy's on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network. I've made plans to go there next time I visit my relatives in Hawaii! :)

  27. Now all I can think about is Roy's butterfish now ;) *sigh* I'm from San Diego and now live in LA, both of which have Roy's locations so I've always been a fan, though I haven't been to the location in Hawaii :) The food here looks delicious though! Xox

  29. The food looks really yummy! I love my veggies with cheese, sauce, or meat too. Plain veggies are so bland and boring. I've never had or heard of butterfish before :)
