BRIAN ATWOOD REVEAL!

I'd been stalking these shoes on Saks.com for a few of months and they finally went on sale!!! WOOT!  A whooping 30% which priced these shoes at roughly the same price as the more affordable B Brian Atwood line.

Maniac Pumps in cobalt blue!!

I originally got into designer shoes a few years ago when The Hub's gifted me with my very first pair of Christian Louboutin's (he has nobody to blame but himself MUHAHA).

But I am a total Brian Atwood convert because Brian Atwood's are by far the MOST comfortable designer shoes I've ever worn in my entire life (and they are a more price friendly option in comparison to other high end designers.)

These Maniacs are made out of suede.

They are 5 inches with a 1 inch platform so they wear like 4 inch heels.

I've found Brian Atwood's to run pretty TTS with their pumps.

I however had to purchase these in a size 38 however I'm a size 37.  Let me explain - I had been stalking these shoes for months!  And I mean MONTHS!  And they had EVERY single size from 35 to 42 and they had it in every size the ENTIRE time I was tracking it.  Well I don't know if something freaky was going on but one day I went online and like 4 different sizes were sold out INCLUDING my size 37 ::WAHHH::!!!

I didn't know what I should do and for a few hours I went back and forth on whether or not I should just suck it up and purchase the size 37.5's finally I decided to bite the bullet and just purchase the 37.5's but when I went to order them they were ALSO sold out!!! ARGH!! I was so upset I just gave up and went to sleep well the next morning I got up and I couldn't stop thinking about these shoes so I went back to Sak's to see if any of the shoes had been restocked (that happens some times) come to find out the shoes were marked down 30% and that basically ALL of the sizes were sold out except for 3 sizes!!!!  UGH!!!!!!!

I was so miffed because I'd been tracking these shoes practically weekly (and sometimes even daily) and they always had EVERY size available and then one day practically ever size is sold out and coincidentally also got marked on sale??!  (I still think the whole thing is very fishy...)

ANYWAYS back to the story so basically there were 3 sizes left and one of them was 38 and I sucked it up ordered them.

So I wanted to explain why I bit the bullet on a size 38.

I have really really wide feet but length wise they run short I hope that makes sense.. basically I've always suspected that width wise I'm really a 37.5 or even a 8 (I ALWAYS need to have every single pair of shoes I buy stretched out) but length wise I'm a size 7 (It's from living in Hawaii and wearing sandals all day everyday you end up with REALLY wide feet unfortunately) which is why I generally buy a 37 because I cannot for the life of me walk in high heels with the back of my heel constantly slipping out.

Luckily Brian Atwood adds this tiny piece of elastic on the back of the shoe that prevents your heel from slipping out (which is another reason why I love his shoes so much it's super awesome for people with narrow heels like me!!)

So I was pretty apprehensive the entire time I was waiting for these shoes to come in but when they finally came they were just as I expected - width wise they were fine (to be honest a little tight!) but they were a bit long so I just took a little tissue paper and stuffed them a bit in the front. I can wear the shoes perfectly fine with the tissues stuffed in the front to take up a little bit of space and it pushes my foot up against the elastic piece which keeps my foot from slipping out.

Now I really REALLY do not recommend buying shoes that are too big or too small for you but I'm just explaining what I did in regards to this particular situation.. however I would also like to emphasize that the tissues trick really ONLY works because of the elastic on the back of the shoe. Had there not been elastic on the back of the shoe to keep my heel in place no matter how much tissues I stuffed in the front the back of my heel would most definitely slip out rendering the shoes unwearable.

(You can't even tell that the shoes are slightly long for me there's no gap in the back!!)

Some of you may remember the shock fuschia Manaic's The Hub's surprised me with last Christmas. Haha as you can tell I 1. really love buying multiples of things that I LOVE (ie. have you seen my Chanel flaps.. or perhaps you may have seen my tweet/fb on oatmeal bahaha!) and 2. I LOVEEEE SHOCK colors!!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!  Especially for shoes!! I tend to dress in fairly neutral colors so I love shaking things up with a really loud if not slightly obnoxious pair of shoes muhahaha.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Brian Atwood Maniacs.

(Can you tell muhahah??!)

  2. Whoo hoo! Great new score and yes, your hubby has no one to blame but himself for getting you into high-end shoes! but I am sure he does not mind one bit with you as his gorgeous arm candy! I have wide feet too, which I usually buy sz 8 for (even 8.5 in designers a couple of times), but they are really more like a 7 or 7.5 length-wise. The sandals thing makes sense, too much wearing Havianas and Rainbows for me too I guess! I can't stand the tight feeling, and then often end up with shoes that are a bit too loose or bog after wearing them in. I have such a TOUGH time with pumps for that reason too! I've never tried BA's but that elastic trick is GENIUS! I might have to try on some of his pumps to fill that void in my closet! :)

  19. omg so blindingly bright & gorgeous!!! but i tried stuffing tissues in a pair of shoes once and they were way too uncomfortable lol i just returned them in the end. perhaps the little elastic does make a huge difference! great deal too lisa :D

  20. They are sooo sexy and the color is just WOW! O.O So these are the comfiest shoes you've ever owned? That is a big statement! And makes me super curious now...hee hee. My dilemma though is that I can't really wear anything too high. Like 4 inches would probably be my max. :P Brian Atwood probably doesn't make 'em that low. T_T

  28. i`ve never tried his shoes, but they look great on you! i hear such great things about them, but i always forget by the time i go shopping haha. my pigalles have that little elastic thing too, but for me it actually pushes my foot forward more and leaves a little gap! i was contemplating cutting them out, but they do hold me in better. sighs..i may have to stuff some tissue in the front to see if it helps! can`t wait to see some outfit posts with your new babies!

  29. Lisa, I'm just in awe that you can walk in 5 inch heels. I'm full of admiration because the one time I stepped out of the house in a 3 inch heel, I ended up hanging on the walls and doing the body shuffle down the lane.

  30. Hey Lisa, I LOVE your shoes! I have a pair that's similar but they're from Guess. I'm the same size as you. Man, I wish we can be sisters in our next life so I can borrow your shoes! Lol. Just dreaming. ;)

  33. Another gorgeous pair of shoes girl! Seriously, I hope you never stop buying shoes or else I won't have anything to drool over lol actually....tumblr is making that hard for me LOL I would have bought these shoes too and just put in a insole and pray to the Shoe God that he'll make it happen Hahahaha I'll definitely have to keep Brian Atwood in mind if I ever decide to purchase more-than-I-can-afford pumps =P Actually I was tempted to get a pair of Louboutins while in Paris but after reading that it will take me a couple weeks to get them to mold my feet I ditched the idea and quick!

I actually have these little....sticker..puffy things I stick to the back of my shoe on the inside so my heels don't pop as well, that's my biggest pet peeve with heels!

    RYC:
Haha thanx! I'm considering changing my current glasses to black, brown or turtle frame. It is reddish which I like but it's a little bent and slanted which doesn't allow me to wear it out. Only for home use.

  42. Geez woman! I swear you're going to make me a convert to B. Atwoods! I'm so happy the shoe fit with the tissue trick.

  49. Oh... these shoes are smexy. I don't own any loud shoes but these have a very nice silhouette. Too bad you aren't in the US because we probably have the same shoe size. :D I generally buy size 7 too. For Louboutin I go up half a size. I only own one pair of them but my podiatrist said I needed to cut back on heels so it was one of the few pairs that stuck around after I was diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis.
