OOTD: Leather Shorts & Stripes

Jacket: PAPYRUS, Blouse & Shorts: Forever 21, Earrings: JEWELMINT, Tights: DKNY,
Shoes: BRIAN ATWOOD, Handbag: CHANEL

I've never been much of a "shorts" wearing girl because growing up I always hated my legs. They've always been sort of short & stumpy which is why I adore heels hahah they can make any legs appear longer! I would never show my legs and this is someone that use to live in Hawaii too! I would wear pants, leggings, maxi dresses anything and everything to cover up my legs even in 90 degree weather!

(Although I have to admit for the first time in my life I don't absolutely hate my gams anymore and I owe that to living in Germany.  We live on the top floor in our apartment building.. and it's 6 flights up stairs up and no elevator.. you do the math bahahaha!)

Because I've always had a "fear" of shorts I hopped on the leather shorts train fairly late but I have to say I'm obsessed!!  They're so comfy and it makes every outfit slightly edgy because of the leather material. WOOT! I don't think my love of all things leather is going away anytime soon tehehe.

Iimori Patisserie + Mini Reunion!

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by an old high school classmate who I hadn't seen in 10+ years (*YIKES* I'm old hahaha).  After high school she moved back to Japan and as fate would have it is now currently working in London and decided come play in Germany!  WOOT!

I was sooo excited to see her! hahaha.  I looked up cute cafe's and found an ADORABLE Japanese Parisian bakery in Frankfurt called Iimori Patisserie.

Petite Fours, Green Tea Torts & Pumpkin Pudding

Aren't the desserts soo cute?

Petite Fours

The petite fours were so adorable there was everything from the normal like fruit & custard tarts to green tea macaroons, green tea opera cakes and even red bean filling!

Heh... sometimes stereotypes persist for a reason. bahahahahahahaha.

Seriously it's like on cue all of us whipped out some sort of photo taking device bahahahahahaha.

Hysterically laughing about the fact that we are all simultaneously taking pictures of our food! :p

Everything here is sooo cute from the feline ballerina's to the vintage baroque stools and the piano that actually plays by itself!!  You can sort of see some of the keys pressed down.

BTW this really freaked out the Hubs he was NOT a fan of the self playing piano bahahahahaha!

Pumpkin Pudding & Chai Tea Latte

Omgosh my pumpkin pudding was soooo nommy!  It's a cross between pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake.

The top part was like a super light marscapone whipped topping, the center was pumpkin pie filling and underneath was a light cheesecake and on the bottom was a soft shortbread biscuit.

Again with the pictures hahahah!

Everything here is so adorable.. I just want to buy and eat everything hahahaha!

They even had some really yummy looking Japanese sandwiches... it looked like some of them had tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) inside!  Will definitely be back to sample these!

Noriko and her adorable furry ear muffs w/ a bow and pearl embellishments!

LOVE sooo cute!

She was thoughtful enough to bring me a box of delicious truffles all the way from London!

These chocolates were created to celebrate the recent Diamond Jubilee festivities in London in honor of Her Majesty The Queen!

Prestat chocolates is a favorite of one of my favorite childhood authors Roald Dahl (of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant peach fame!)

The Queen Mother even gives these chocolates as gifts.  Fancy! hahahaha

They are sooooooooooooooo good. Omg good. Truffles are my FAVORITE types of chocolates and one of them was a champagne truffle.  Out of all the truffles in the world I LOVE LOVE champagne truffles the most! LOVE! :)  Thank you so much Noriko!

I had so much fun seeing you again after all these years Noriko!  It was nice meeting you too Rie!

So looking forward to visiting you girls in London! :)

Tea @ The InterContinental & Central Michel Richard

Tea @ The InterContinental Hotel! :)

The beginning of our girls only foodie day hehe!

Christmas decorations make me so happy haha!

Such a gorgeous tress!!

And I love loveee the ceiling of this hotel!

To be fair I love ALL InterContinental hotels they are always so pretty inside and out!

Tea time :)!

With a harpist to boot!

Om Nom Nom!

I just adore tea time!!!

They had lemon curd too!!

I loveee lemon curd.. I find the hallmark of a good afternoon tea ALWAYS provides lemon curd.  You'd be surprised how often places in the US don't give lemon curd!

An entire gingerbread replica of the hotel!

Central Michel Richard owned by James Beard winner chef Michel Richard! :)

I haven't really been able to explore the Washington, DC food scene so I was so excited when Sally suggested we go to CMR!  Because it was delish and now I can't wait to come back and try his higher end restaurant Citronelle!

The bread came out piping hot w/ delicious creamy soft butter.  A nice touch!  I definitely think a restaurants bread and butter speaks volumes about the type of food that will come out of its kitchen.

Gourges (french cheese puffs)

OMGOSH these were DELICIOUS!!

The outside was crisp, flaky buttery and the inside was filled w/ soft cheese.. omggggg these were nommy.  Loved them!

The restaurant was crazy packed!!

This is just a small part of the restaurant too!

What can I say I love cheese and I love bread.. So cheese + bread = heaven for me!!

hahahahahaha

<3 this pretty girl :)!

YES I'm taking a picture of someone taking a picture.... of food..

Sometimes stereotypes persist for a reason hahahah ;)

Pork Belly confit w/ braised lentils and Mushroom pearl risotto

But omgosh both these dishes were delicious!!!!!

The pork belly was so deliciously fatty and juicy and the skin was so crisp and it sat on a bed of creamy lentils (such a ridiculous run on sentence I know).  I really don't know why I don't eat more lentils because they are so yummy haha!

The mushroom pearl risotto was SO good that I practically licked the plate clean.  Literally.  There was a little bit left over and the waiter came to take it and I practically yelled at him AHAHAHAHA.

sigh

#iamafatty

ahahahahaha.

Burger w/ bacon & cheddar and fries w/ brussel sprouts and bacon

When we originally ordered we decided to split a burger which turned out to be a wise decision because neither one of us actually even made it to our burger.  The fries were delicious however!  And brussels sprouts + bacon is always delicious!

I ate my burger the next day it was still pretty good but I imagine it would have been much better if I had been able to eat it at the restaurant haha.

Even though we totally did not even touch our entree we did however find room for dessert.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Banana Split

This dessert was actually a 2 person portion hahaha but it really could have been for like 4 ppl at least!  We barely made a dent before waving the white flag.

It's basically a deconstructed banana split and it.was.AWESOME.

The top compartments features 3 different types of super delicious ice cream and sorbet.  And the bottom is halved bananas - yes under all that whip cream/nectarines/chocolate/pistachios/almonds/caramel/hot chocolate sauce are bananas. ahahahaha.

See mom I had fruit today BAHAHAHAHA.

I highly doubt this is what she meant when she wanted to know if I ate fruit today though ;p

The United State Capital building is literally a straight shot from the restaurant.

I never realized how beautiful D.C. was until I moved away.  I will definitely have to come back and re-explore DC :)  I think you really do tend to take for granted things in your surroundings until they AREN'T your surroundings anymore hahaha.

Thanks for a fabulous day Sally I had so much fun now I'm off to attempt to work off my food baby.. and my food baby's baby ahahahahaha!

BTW. I will totes be going back to Central Michel Richard to order ALL of the above + the famous fried chicken!

If you are visiting D.C. GO HERE!!!! hahahaha :p
